Sure, you see great stories and testimonials when you visit online dating sites,
but are they real or merely a way of advertising the services?
In truth, for many people, online dating does work.
It's Still Great After Five Years!
My name is Lisa and I live in New York City.
Believe me, the last place I thought to look for a mate was online.
After all I had many friends, acquaintences and a wide networking system.
However, my friends convinced me that joining a dating service could be a great experience.
I wasn't so sure it would be great, but I knew it would be a "new" experience.
So, I began my journey.
There were certain rules that I set up from the start;
meet in public places, do short lunch or cocktail dates,
and don't give out my phone number.
It was rare!
There were some awful guys out there, some not so bad and only a few possibilities.
Ask! And then along came "Bill" from Great Neck, New York, in February, 2003. Then things really started looking up.
We hit it off from the start.
He was cute, charming, bright and we shared the same interests.
There was one big question, "Who was this guy?"
Too good to be true ... might be an axe murderer?
Well things really took a turn for the best.
We found we shared mutual friends.
Bill had an A+ rating.
So things developed in ernest.
We decided on a year of living together and if things went well,
on to the altar.
It's been five years now and we're even better friends and lovers than ever.
We not only enjoy each other's company but share a love for both our family and friends.
Why, just the other day my Dad said, "Bill is so handy,
where do I get a guy like him?"
I told him, "just go online!"
